A little rain couldn't stop this wedding from being absolutely stunning. A soft color palette with delicate blushes and whites left the day open for romance and tenderness.
The day was centered around family and friends with a little southern charm woven into the details of the day. See more of this cloudy but cute rustic wedding in the full gallery here, captured by Austin Gros.
On our actual wedding day, we were rained out of our original plan, so there were lots of last minute changes. Even with the rain, our wedding day was just as amazing as we’d always dreamed it would be. Because our friends and families are split between Canada and the US, it was so incredibly special to have all the people we love in the same place. Everything about our wedding week was amazing, and we are so grateful to everyone for making it happen.
Tom’s favorite detail: The wedding arch that I was building at midnight the night before the wedding…..yikes! Ally’s favorite detail: Our ceremony programs included a picture that my nephews drew of us on our wedding day!
The planning and preparing for the wedding reflected the style of our relationship. As a couple, we genuinely try to work together and support one another with our different projects. The wedding was no different, and we worked together to create almost all of the details for the big day. We had plenty of help from friends and family and created lots of amazing memories along the way.
We met and fell in love in Calgary, Alberta. For our wedding, however, we wanted to get married close to Chattanooga, Tennessee where Ally grew up. With all the Canadian guests, many of them traveling to the south for the first time, we wanted the wedding to have a true southern feel. From “See Y’all Soon” on the invitations to chicken and waffles for dinner, the wedding aimed to incorporate lots of warm and welcoming southern details.
