Rustic Elegance: Melissa & Ryan’s Bold & Beautiful Texas Wedding

Happy couple on their wedding day, holding flowers smiling at camera

Melissa and Ryan said, "I Do" this past May at The Orchard, a beautiful venue with rustic touches in Azle, Texas. It's a little off the beaten path, about 40 minutes from downtown Fort Worth, and was the perfect neutral backdrop for Melissa's vision of bold colors and garden inspired floral wedding.
Simplicity mixed with elegance and romance were the keys for creating this stunning clean and classy Texas wedding. Just a warning, you may get a little star struck when you see all the beauties included in the full gallery here, captured by Feather & Twine.

clean design aesthetic

Melissa has a very clean design aesthetic so we kept things pretty simple so that her thoughtful design selections really popped. With hints of tribal patterns, rustic elements, feathers and metallic gold the eclectic design really provided a wow factor. Ryan loves to hunt so Melissa paid tribute to that through accents of antlers on the tables and requested that the boutonnieres be placed in gold shot gun casings. The overall result was very fun and was a true representation of the couple's style and personality!

Advice part one

My advice for future brides isn't even my own advice! I hired Jen Rios of Jen Rios Weddings to help me design and coordinate my special day. I was having a hard time making decisions and sticking to them. I kept changing my mind and the direction of my wedding vision. I was wanting to keep up with the ever changing wedding trends. Needless to say, it made my life (and hers) a lot more stressful.

advice part two

A few weeks before the big day, she "cut me off" from the wedding world. No more wedding magazines or blogs, and the hardest for me, Pinterest. Trust me, I had "researched" more than enough already. But after that, I went from being inspired by everything wedding to inspired by MY own wedding! In the end, I feel like we really nailed the essence of myself and my hubby!

research your vendors

And also, hire a quality photographer. Now that my wedding is long over, those pictures are really the only tangible thing I have to hold on to from that day (aside from my husband, of course). Feather & Twine Photography was everything I wanted in a wedding photographer. Their style, talent, and even professionalism at my wedding was bar none. So research your vendors! There's one out there that will match you and your wedding perfectly. And if needed, this goes for videography too!Speaking of the videography, see the amazing video for this wedding below, filmed by Mnemonic Films.
