From a nearby apricot tree we hung photos showing both our early lives before we met, and then our long journey together. We handmade much of the décor, and we managed to accomplish all the wedding setup together by drawing on our family and friends. The guestbook paper mache piñata was especially fun to make and contains the handiwork of nearly a dozen of our family members. We’re so excited to open it up on our one year anniversary and read our guests’ messages.
From the start we knew that our wedding would be at Little Creek Farm. I had worked on the farm for years when I was younger and have always considered it my very favourite place in the world. We are so grateful to have had the opportunity to bring so many people from different places and times in our lives to this magical place.
We chose baby’s breath as the main flower because it grows abundantly around the property and I love its delicate, lacy look. We were so pleased that our months of brainstorming and weeks of crafting come together on our wedding day beautifully.
Print outs of various animals found surrounding British Columbia forest (with the possible exception of the unicorn) were tied around mason jars. Each guests name was hand written on a blue label with a gold sharpie.
Each guest was given a bottle of a salad dressing from the wedding venue. Clever and usueful wedding favor.
