Marilyn and Nate’s love story begins when they met at a small bakery in Cleveland, Ohio. After hitting it off, these two would later get engaged at this same bakery, and then married just a block away a year and a half later! How romantic is that?! They celebrated their big day in style with a classic vintage theme that included heirloom furnishings and lush florals of garden roses and dahlias.
They also had some fun little details we love, like the oh-so-delish donut wall featuring beer infused donuts (say what!) and tasty custom cocktails served up at their historic venue, The Glidden House. They probably never imagined what would come of their first coffee date at that bakery, but we’re excited to share their story with you! Read more about their day below and grab a closer look in the full gallery from Lauren Gabrielle.
From A Charming Fête: The bride's Harriet Wilde gold leaf and floral embellished suede heels were one of our favorite bride style details. She also gifted her groom with the custom elephant cufflinks. Elephants are one of their favorite animals, and are a symbol of good luck! They had an intimate wedding and kept their wedding party really small with just a matron of honor (sister of the bride) and best man (twin brother of the groom). They had our other siblings perform readings at the ceremony.
Their historic reception venue, The Glidden House, was equally charming and only a block away from where they first met. The bride's wedding style was classic/vintage and she chose heirloom furniture pieces and linens in a few mixed floral fabrics to compliment that vibe. The bride's dad also made a small donut wall for the reception which was covered in mini beer-infused donuts made by local bakery Brewnuts. It was also really special for Nate to have his favorite funfetti groom’s cake and the couple gave favors of local, specialty handmade caramels from Hummingbird Bake Shop.
Signature drinks of Moscow Mules and Raspberry Lemonade with vodka and fresh raspberries were served at the bar. Lush florals full of garden roses and cafe au lait dahlias decorated the reclaimed dining wood tables which were styled elegantly by lead planner, Lauren Hibbard.
