From the Bride: It was extremely important to me that we honored my dad throughout the day. He passed away after battling cancer in January of 2014. I knew it was going to be very hard not having him there. After I put on my wedding dress, my mom gave me a beautiful locket with my dad’s picture in it. I attached it to my bouquet and carried it around with me throughout the day. Having him with me provided me comfort, and I know that he was looking down on me with so much love.
I would say to future brides that organization is a key! Google docs are a savior and the whole process involves a lot of organization and project management. Make sure to find trade offs if you have a limited budget - i.e. pick the areas that are most important where you want to splurge and then find ways to save money (do it yourself welcome bags, save the dates, etc).

I was told so many times to make sure to enjoy each part of the day since it goes by so fast. I truly believe I did. I loved getting ready with my mom and bridesmaids, seeing Chris for the first time when I walked down the aisle, trekking through the hills with Chris during our photo session and being surrounded by our family and friends throughout the day.
