This chic country outdoor wedding was as gorgeous as can be at the The Gardens at Los Robles Greens in Thousand Oaks, California. The beautiful couple wanted their wedding to feel uniquely them and with such a beautiful backdrop to work with they had no problem creating the wedding of their dreams.
From the brides cowgirl boots, to the grooms love of basketball, each detail fell perfectly into place for their laid-back day. It doesn’t get any cuter than this! Keep scrolling for more beautiful images from Jennifer Lourie Photography and grab a closer look in the full gallery here.
From the bride: We wanted our wedding to be as true to who we are and our backgrounds as possible, so incorporating personal touches was very important to make it our own. I am a Colorado native with a cowboy for a father, while Johnny was born and raised in Santa Barbara, CA and the basketball gym was his second home. I knew I wanted some country elements, and Johnny needed a basketball. My wedding shoe of choice was cowgirl boots (great option if you want to be comfy all night!), and Johnny threw a miniature basketball with the garter around it for the garter toss.
Before walking me down the isle, I pinned inside his jacket a heart with a personal message on it about always walking by my side and I asked him to wear his black cowboy hat for that day. We had burlap banners for beverages and desserts (again, country elements), and our bridal party was announced to that Space Jam song "Get ready for this"- you know the one! Our wedding day was truly a dream come true. Everything was perfect and very US.
A few pieces of advice we like to give: Don't skimp on photography and videography, you will be SO happy to have beautiful, professional photos and video to see for the rest of your lives. Don't wait until the last two weeks to get "the little details" finished up. You'll stay up way too late and get stressed out! Don't listen too much to what other people might say, it's about you and your groom and whatever YOU want! And lastly, remember to take a moment and look around at all those details you chose for your big day, see how everything came together, and all those people that are there for you as you celebrate the first day of the rest of your lives.
