A lot of heart and soul went into planning this next wedding and all that hard work paid off for Brooke and Stevens big day at Lockhaven Farm in South Carolina. Charming, organic details and hues of blush, ivory and navy looked timeless in every way, just as the bride had envisioned!
Her families gorgeous farm made the perfect backdrop for their spectacular day, so keep scrolling to see their entire day captured by Hannah Ruth Photography, and be sure to swing by the full gallery for even more beautiful images!
From the bride: My dad and husband worked four months renovating our 2600-sq.ft. horse barn into a dream venue. So much work and love was poured into our big day. I designed all our decorations, hand painted every sign and hung each and every one with the help of my family and bridesmaids. I wanted an organic, timeless feel -- I wanted guests who'd never been to Lockhaven Farm to see its beauty. I wanted pink peonies and I wanted BBQ.
Steven and I felt strongly that we didn’t want to see each other before the wedding. Seeing his reaction as I walked down the aisle is my favorite memory. (I’d never seen Steven cry until our Wedding Day). I always thought I would wave and smile to guests as I walked down the aisle, but when I laid eyes on Steven, he had my undivided attention.
We incorporated blush, ivory, navy and metallics. Our tables were adorned with jars full of lemons, limes and rosemary. Getting married on a South Carolina farm, you're bound to see mosquitoes! We poured lemon eucalyptus oil into the jars to keep the bugs at bay.
If I could do anything differently, I would have brought our pups (2 boxers and a labrador retriever) to the farm for our big day...or at least had our pictures taken with them. I worried the day would be too hectic in the hours leading up to our ceremony to have the pups around. But, that wasn't the case. Of course you can't control every moment of your big day, but you can control how the unexpected might affect you. I strongly urge dog moms (and dog dads) to let the pups tag along! You won't regret it.
