Macy’s best friend Mandy spent a few years trying to set Macy up with some of her guy friends, but knowing she was “picky” she nearly gave up — until Connor came on her radar and she connected the two.
Macy may have been selective, but I think a part of her knew she was patiently waiting for her knight, and was not going to waste time with anyone else. After all, the very first time they met in person he kindly volunteered to help her move into her apartment! Fast forward through two and a half years of a successful and thriving long distance relationship, and Connor is planning a surprise proposal with Macy’s family in Charleston! Check our their engagement session in downtown Charleston.
Macy was a breathtaking bride, wearing a classy strapless gown with a billowing mermaid train. She was a bit nervous for most of the morning but as soon as she put on her cathedral length veil, a weight lifted off her shoulders (who knew the veil would do the trick!?). The night before Connor and Macy’s wedding they gathered with their closest family and friends at Parcel 32 for the rehearsal dinner. Macy and Connor were grinning ear to ear as they greeted their beloved guests and thanked them for coming. The couple and their guests spent the evening sharing sweet words while sipping rose on the velvet furnishings of this charming and chic venue.
The wedding was held at the iconic Governor Thomas Bennett House in the historic district of downtown Charleston. This grande mansion surrounded by blooming gardens and looming live oaks is a wedding celebration oasis.
Macy walked down the aisle like Maria from the Sound of Music, her face concealed by her gorgeous veil. Connor came prepared with his handkerchief and dabbed his eyes as she approached him. The two met under the arbor, overflowing with white hydrangeas and roses, and Connor lifted her veil. They looked into each other’s eyes, taking in these precious moments before they began a new chapter of life together. The couple exchanged vows and a kiss, and with their beaming faces moseyed down the aisle hand in hand.

The couple and their planner Chauncey Finch of Bouquets and Bowties, filled the venue with brilliant signature decor: there were Macy and Connor “fun fact” cocktail napkins, a blue and white placard with seating slips for each set of guests and koozies featuring their precious pooch Sammy.
The wedding party dined and mingled in the spacious and inviting courtyard garden of the Thomas Bennett House, and then danced the night away in the elegant atmosphere of the sail cloth tent. Power 2 Party, gave an amazing performance that carried the energy of the entire night. The bride and groom sang along to all of their favorite songs with all of their favorite people.
To close out an unforgettable evening, the guests were escorted out of the gardens so the couple could share one last private dance. In true Charleston fashion, the couple exited through their tunnel of loved ones and drove off into the night on a pedicab adorned in white wisteria.
