The Perfect Wedding Invites

As a designer, it was important to me to support independent artists in any way that I could. We wanted unique invitations and day of stationary and after a lot of searching we finally found Laura Joseph at Paper and Honey.

Laura was so patient, and really took the time to get to know us as a couple. The result was stationary that really defined us and the tone we wanted to set for our wedding day.

Setting The Tone With Signage

Our wedding sign reflected the casual elegance we were going for. Stevie Johnston at Johnston Chalk Typography did an amazing job capturing the feel we were going for. We wanted to make the right first impression as our guests entered the event.

A Special Place For A Special Day

We decided we wanted the wedding to reflect casual, fun, elegance. We immediately knew we wanted the reception in a tent and a lot of outposts surrounding it. The grounds of the club already meant a lot to us, being that we had family history there. We arranged for a beautiful ceremony in front of the pro shop right up the hill and our cocktail hour was hosted on the open veranda of the clubhouse.

Enjoy Your Big Day

My best advice to any bride out there is don’t sweat the small stuff. The day goes so fast, you don’t have time to focus in on making things perfect. Just enjoy the day as it has been presented it to you. Take a moment, with your husband, and step back for just a moment. Look into the room at all the people that are there to celebrate your love and just watch. Soak it all in.

Cake vs. Cupcake

We actually HATE wedding cakes. We never like the way they taste, so we decided right off the bat that we wanted our wedding cake to be cupcakes from Magnolia Bakery in NYC. We live on the Upper West Side only a few blocks away and thought it would be more than fitting to serve our favorite local cupcake at our wedding.
