This wedding on the outer banks was as timeless as it gets
Bridesmaids dressed in Carolina Blue, a Lily of the Valley bouquet for the bride, and the groom and his men clad in sharp black tuxedos, this wedding on the Outer Banks was as classic as it gets. And while this couple did stick to most of the usual wedding traditions, they had Southern Hospitality Weddings & Events to help them make it their own. From a custom crest and dance floor to nautical details and a seaside ceremony, though this wedding may be timeless, it's still one of a kind. Keep reading to see every last detail captured by Sarah D'Ambra Photography in these stunning photos.

the design: classic with a hint of coastal
Christina and Jeff's wedding was classic with a hint of coastal design. There were small nautical accents throughout the stationery like the custom crest, the place card icons, and menus–even the bride's shell-shaped purse! The stationery for the day revolved around a classic watercolor crest of the couple's initials, the blue hydrangeas that were found throughout the reception, and seashells as a nod to the beach location. The table names also tied into the Outer Banks coast with names like "Ghost Crab, "Wild Horse Tuna", "Dune Hare", and more–all animals native to the area. Since the reception venue is already so light and airy, the pale Carolina blue was brought in throughout the linens, chargers, and dance floor design. To keep everything in the white and blue color palette, the dance floor was color-matched into a blue and white checkerboard print.
the flowers
The bride carried a petite bouquet of Lily of the Valley by East Beach Flowers, the most traditional bouquet for her! Classic hydrangeas in shades of blue and white were used as the sole flower in the reception decor! The head table had a dramatic runner of hydrangeas down the length of the table (24 feet!) and pooled onto the ground, while the guest tables each had mixed chinoiserie pieces filled with hydrangeas, accented with romantic candlelight.
a beach ceremony
The ceremony was on the beach at Sanderling Resort, complete with a sand fence aisle runner. The ceremony was made even more special with the bride's father officiating and incorporating other family members for readings and blessings.
what they wore
The bride wore two equally stunning but very different dresses by Jenny Yoo. For the ceremony and formalities, it was a classic A-line dress with a romantic jacquard texture. To kick off the dance party, she changed into a flirty fitted lace gown with dainty straps. The bridesmaids' dresses by Alfred Sung set the tone for the wedding in the perfect icy blue color with a show-stopping oversized bow on the back! A classic wedding style meant tuxedos for the gentlemen of course, even though the ceremony was held directly in the sand. Tuxes look extra sharp on the beach, don't they?
the food
Guests were treated to a taste of local favorites like freshly caught ahi tuna, crab cakes, and East Coast oysters during cocktail hour. Then, for dinner, the local fresh catch since the Outer Banks is a seafood capital on the Atlantic Ocean! The 5-tier wedding cake was designed based on classic cakes of generations past with intricate piping details, different on each tier.
