When you're designing your wedding, it always helps to have a piece of source material, whether it's an inspiration board or, in this case, a famous painting. Greg and Julian knew that they wanted to pull inspiration for their big day from one of their favorite paintings, Van Gogh's Starry Night. From the florals and cake to their wardrobe and the twinkle lights, they incorporated the color palette into every aspect of the wedding. The rich blues and warm yellows are a refreshing change from the typical neutral wedding color palette that we see so often.
Lizzy Liz Events helped the couple design and organize their big day and they say they couldn't have done it without her. We are seriously impressed with how Beautiful Savage Flowers managed to keep the florals in the blue color scheme, it's surprisingly difficult to find blue blooms and they make it seem effortless! Franciscan Gardens was the perfect outdoor space for this beautiful wedding and actually reminds us of another piece by Van Gogh, Café Terrace At Night. Leslie Satterfield took these vibrant photos that are so full of love and life, it's clear that everyone at this wedding had a great time! Greg and Julian are the perfect example of that easy kind of love. The pair met online, and for their first date, Greg cooked dinner at home, and then they spent the rest of the night watching movies. They've been together just about every day since. The inspiration behind their wedding day was Van Gogh's Starry Night. Their color palette featured rich blues and grays with touches of silver. Greg and Julian coordinated their looks with custom suits in gray and blue to go with their theme.
After saying their vows in the courtyard in front of a moon gate arch, the space was transformed for the reception. Whimsical florals, fairy lights, and lanterns set the scene. For favors, they made homemade pickles for their guests to take home. After having to postpone due to the pandemic, the best part of the day was celebrating and partying with their favorite people.
