I’ve always loved his parents' house. They have a beautiful backyard and are on a waterway in Coral Gables. He told me we were going to take pictures for his grandma for her birthday so I would dress nicely. We were lying in their hammock and he popped the question!
I made an appointment at Galia because I saw an ad for this dress on Instagram. I knew I was going for that dress and that dress only! I knew it was the one when I saw it, put it on, and immediately teared up. That was the only dress that made me cry.
Sandy, my stylist, made it feel like I was dress shopping with my best friend. She and I both knew I had found "the one" once I tried on "Evita". The seamstress who did my alterations was amazing too, she was so detailed and I know she really took her time to perfect it. It felt surreal putting it on after picking it out almost eight months before the wedding. I was so excited and I knew it was gonna be a hit. Everyone’s reaction was priceless. So many tears and smiles!
You'll never believe it, but the "Evita" dress from Galia Lahav can be worn three different ways! Lynda opted for the long-sleeve lace top and dress for the ceremony and switched into the strapless version for the reception. Galia Lahav also has a matching overskirt with a corseted waist if you want to go for three-in-one!
Go to Galia first! I wasted so much time at other stores when I knew I wanted to try on the "Evita" dress. My advice is, buy the damn dress! Don’t think about it, if it makes you cry, that’s the one! Don't listen to anyone’s opinion and keep your dress shopping squad small. Too many opinions will make you second guess.
As one would expect when the bride is so fashionable, each and every one of her girls brought it for the big day as well. The day started with the entire crew lounging in the cutest matching pink PJs, then they changed into their party dresses. Lynda gave everyone a color palette of pink and purple and let everyone select their own dresses for the black-tie wedding, and we've never seen that turn out as perfect as it did here!
I'll never forget walking back down the aisle with my husband's arm locked around mine and kissing at the end of the aisle. I have replayed that moment so many times! It felt so good to officially be husband and wife!
Our DJ was amazing and we built a personal relationship with him. My husband and I met him at the bar we frequent on Thursday nights (@bodegataqueria) and thought, "We want our wedding to be exactly the same vibe." He was a fan favorite and our guests have not stopped asking for his contact. The “hora loca” was my favorite part of the wedding to plan. I ordered tambourines and had them custom-stamped and added ribbons to them. I also bought light-up leis and headbands because I wanted to stick to the tropical theme. I wouldn’t change anything for the world! I feel like our wedding was so “us”.
