Tropical Florida Wedding That’s Bursting With Colorful Blooms
Harry led Christine to believe that they were attending a work party in order to plan the perfect surprise engagement. Upon leaving for the event, Christine found that Harry had made a private reservation at a swanky New York restaurant instead. Harry proposed to Christine in the restaurant’s private room, complete with a view that overlooked the city. Dinner was accompanied by both of their families which Harry had arranged to secretly fly into town. Afterward, they unraveled the night at a bar in the West Village with their closest friends.
Inspired by motifs of French toile and chinoiserie, Christine and Harry’s wedding captured a collage of lofty patterns and elevated state of mind. Hosted at the Buffalo History Museum, this historic landmark provided its iconic architecture for a sophisticated wedding day backdrop. It was important for Christine to share the beauty of the city in which she grew up. She loved how the museum was not only surrounded by the iconic Japanese Garden but it included open exhibits for guests to learn more about the couple’s beloved city. The couple’s first look was shot along the building’s portico, where grand columns evoked an elegant mood.
Christine’s gown by Suzanne Neville included a pleated strapless bodice and a gentle full skirt. She paired her dress with a flowing veil detailed with ribbon trim and cobalt blue Jimmy Choo’s for a timeless look. Christine’s second look channeled a disco-inspired mood shift. She donned a pants set by Fleur du Mal, which included a strapless corset bodice and sequined wide-leg pants.
The outdoor ceremony took place alongside the building’s light stone exterior. At the altar stood two brightly colored floral pillars of pinks, soft corals, and light blues.
Guests enjoyed the outdoor reception with moments of greenery that swept throughout the tent above tables in blue and white patterned linens. A memorable installation of framed photos was created with personalized images and notes of gratitude toward each guest. This not only served as meaningful wedding favors but also created a beautiful and personalized installation decorated with florals along the shelves.
The couple’s dainty white and blue wedding cakes sat on a table of magnificent desserts, all painted in chinoiserie-inspired motifs.
The couple was sent off in a vintage cream-colored Cadillac convertible to lead the way to the exclusive afterparty destination.
