One set of super duper DIY skills combined with the couples very own backyard really was the combination for Jessica and Alex's wedding. Their entire day from start to finish is chalk-full of wedding inspiration - from their diy doillie wrapped invites to the whimsical feather in Jessica's bouquet.

From the Bride on the Theme and Color Palette:Honestly I'm not a fan of true color themes that can become cheesy and outdated so we stuck with what we knew and our wedding had a similar style as our home, in fact most of the decorations came right off the walls in our home. Alex is also very into 50s pinup and I'm into more natural beauty of our surroundings so it became a blend of just that. From the Bride on the Inspiration for the Wedding:Pinterest helped me think of things I wouldn't have and helped get the creative juices flowing! I also went on saveoncrafts.com and found so much good stuff for cheap!
From the Bride on The Venue:We chose our home for two reasons; one we live in Berlin, WI and if you ever came here you would know there isn't much here so we didn't have a lot of options. The second reason was our home has some family history behind it, it was important to Alex and I that it became a home of celebration, love and a beautiful future.
From the Bride on the Most Difficult Part of Wedding Planning:I always had people willing to help but a lot of the stuff I was doing myself and had the idea in my head so it was to get help when I wasn't sure exactly what I wanted yet. The guest list was also the not so fun part. It is never easy deciding who you want invited and who your parents want invited. From the Bride on What She Would Have Done Differently:The only thing I would have done differently is allowed more time to relax with my girls. I thought I had plenty of time but all of a sudden the day was flying by and we were rushing to get pictures done.
From the Bride on her Favorite Details:Food and drinks. You always want your guest to be well fed and have plenty to drink so they stay and enjoy the party! I also really wanted to feel me and Alex at the wedding and feel a personal touch about it.
How awesome is this wheel they created for their wedding reception? Even if you didn't have a giant wheel laying around, this would be a simple idea to recreate with the spinner from your Twister game or the lazy susan from your kitchen!
