Alexa and Michael were married in a beautiful upscale rustic tent wedding at the Country Club Of Detroit in August of 2021. Originally planned to be held in September of 2020, the couple had worked tirelessly with all of their vendors to plan their perfect day. When the Covid pandemic required them to postpone, the couple knew the wait would be worth it in the end. While the process of moving the date was stressful, the one thing they had known from the start was that they wanted an outdoor wedding. As a perfect complement to this requirement, their new wedding day was bright, beautiful, and hot. The florals by Twigs And Branches Floral were stunning - the tents and rentals meant to awe. Guests were treated to a touching ceremony beneath a stunning tree on the Country Club’s property, followed by dinner and dancing under the expansive and impressive Sperry tents provided by Chance Productions. The planning process was led by wedding planner Jennie Wiegand of Beautiful Day Planning, who's wedding planning and navigation brought everything that Alexa envisioned to life. Michael and Alexa first met in high school. They were in the same friend group; however, they did not pay much attention to each other. And after high school, they lost touch. They reconnected at their 10 year high school reunion, rekindled their friendship, and - shortly after - they started dating. Michael and Alexa went on a 2 week road trip out west in the summer of 2019 to Glacier National Park, Yellowstone, Grand Tetons, and the Badlands. While they were in the Grand Tetons, Michael proposed. On their last hike in the Grand Tetons to Lake Solitude - 15 miles round trip! - they stopped for lunch. After lunch, as we were getting ready to head back, Michael said Alexa's name, she turned around, he was down on one knee with a ring in his hand.

When their wedding day arrived, the color palette and design choices were ruled by two words – timeless and classic. The goal was to bring classic design elements to the outdoors in a way that felt romantic, like an Italian countryside wedding seated under the stars. The floral color palette was grounded in two colors - greens and whites. Pops of color were sprinkled throughout the cutlery, candle holders, chargers, bridesmaids and groomsmen attire, and the venue’s classic style and color palette was used as a backdrop to naturally add color to the palette. Michael chose a classic dark navy tux with black lapel with the same palette for his groomsmen. The bridesmaids dresses were anchored together with shades of blush. The dresses were not form fitting, but instead were “airy” as this added to the organic feel of the outdoor wedding. When it came to the flowers, Kevin of Twigs And Branches Floral took it one step further. Instead of having one shade of white, he added beautiful shades of whites that brought dimension to the arrangements. He even made the floral chandeliers that were hanging in the tent. This brought dimension and color to the top of the tent. Candles were added to the tables to incorporate a romantic vibe, and Kevin even added candles to the chandeliers. Elegance and romance were also brought in by the Sperry tent and the drapery on the sides to its peaks which fit perfectly with the venue and brought a classic look to the outdoors.
