Charmingly simple bouquet by Cody Floral Design Boho Chic is the style that draws on various bohemian and hippie influences (think Kate Moss, the Olsen twins, Nicole Richie and Sienna Miller). Boho Chic is about looking individual and natural, playing with stereotypical hippie clothing with a modern twist. The way we interpreted the Boho Chic theme in this wedding design photo shoot was to combine modern metallic vintage pieces infused with yellow in an outdoor, woodland setting.
Antique pieces paired with yellow pops of color create visual interest in all corners of the design. Don't be afraid to be creative when thinking about where you get your color elements from - flowers, fruits and vegetables, even the color of the lemonade! Be careful about not overwhelming the eye with too much of your color, what makes it visually attractive is the opposition between the color and the lack of the color. The yellow only looks as beautiful as the absence of the yellow in the other decor items. In this shoot we also drew on the contrast between the wood of the table and other furniture pieces and the metallic and shine of the accessories.
Talented photographer Melissa Musgrove captured the simplicity and purity of the scene beautifully in every shot. Laura Sangas from Cody Floral Design also did a lovely job in creating floral elements that worked perfectly with the Boho Chic theme. All antiques and vintage pieces are from the Merryl Brown Events collection. We love working in Santa Barbara as wedding planners and event producers!
