The photos speak for themselves, this mountaintop California wedding was stunning. But that didn't just happen by chance–it was planned. From the florals matching the signage to the wedding guests all wearing festive fall colors, every last detail beautifully curated. And we must say, all that hard work paid off! A lot of couples debate about whether or not to give their guests a dress code. Take it from us, your guests will not only understand your dress code request, they will appreciate it! Seriously, how many weddings have you gone to and stressed about what to wear? A dress code eliminates the guesswork and leaves just the fun. And we love how this couple stated that the dress was cocktail, but also suggested a color palette!
To really immerse their guests in all of those fall feels, an outdoor ceremony made the most sense. When they saw the view from the incredible patio at The 1909, the search was over. West Events helped Ali and Taylor bring their vision to life and made this perfectly orchestrated day look effortless. Seriously, even though everything is picture-perfect, the wedding still has a very chill, laid-back vibe. Kreative Hands took the fall theme and ran with it, playing with dried and live flowers in these stunning arrangements and even in the bride's flower crown. Kiernan Michelle Photography understood the assignment and made sure that meticulous color palette made an appearance in each and every one of these photos. Here's what Kiernan had to say about that beautiful day...
Ali and Taylor’s first encounter was not your typical Tinder date. It was Valentine’s Day when they both canceled dates they had set up with online matches. Instead, both Ali and Taylor found themselves out in Santa Monica with their friends. They locked eyes from across the dance floor while the cover band played power ballads. To this day, Taylor will never forget the arched eyebrow glance Ali threw his way. For their engagement, Taylor and Ali were on a trip to Kauai. They took off for a day of adventuring where they climbed a coral reef bank together. A sparkling item caught Ali’s eye in the distance. As she walked toward it, Taylor got on one knee. Ali opened the shell she had found to find a custom ring inside. Nearby, Taylor’s family snapped candid photos of this once-in-a-lifetime moment.
For Ali and Taylor’s fall wedding, they knew a serene mountain celebration would evoke the festive energy they desired in their ethereal surroundings. The wedding venue, nestled in the heart of the Santa Monica Mountains, offered a breathtaking outdoor patio space. The wedding procession followed a red brick pathway through the gardens. Ali and Taylor exchanged their vows under a golden arch on deck tucked into the canopy of trees.
Ali wore a chantilly lace dress with pearl buttons up the back that paired perfectly with her platform pearl heels. Going for an elegant boho look, she also wore a stunning dried floral headpiece in rust tones. Guests were asked to dress within a festive fall cocktail theme– unique accessories encouraged!
Shades of bright red, marigold, and even a dusty mauve came together to create the perfect fall color palette.
Other floral arrangements mixed colorful fresh and dried flowers with bursts of long, grassy stems. Her own bouquet included warm orange flowers with a focus on pampas grass.
Brick red-colored signage was bold, warm, and inviting to the outdoor reception under the bistro string lights.
Pro Tip: We love that the floral arrangements that framed the arch at the ceremony were repurposed and used to decorate the sweetheart table. Extra points for sustainability!
