Allie and Lewis met through a mutual friend on a lazy Sunday afternoon at a friend's house in Venice Beach. Lewis thought Allie was cute, but she was in a relationship at the time. The two remained friendly for years afterward until they both became romantically available, went on a date, and the rest was history! Lewis proposed to Allie during a weekend in Sonoma on the very last day of their trip during an "Oyster Experience" at Hog Island Oyster Co. in Tomales Bay. When they began planning, the couple had no theme or color palette. With the help of some family, friends, and JOWY Productions, they were able to put together a gorgeous wedding day! Allie and Lewis began by mainly going off of a feeling they wanted to bring to their event. They decided to focus on the locale and pulled from the colors, architecture, and history of Palm Springs and The Parker Hotel. This was where their beautiful, marbleized paper for the invitations by Jonathan Wright and Company came from.
Allie's bridesmaids wore a mixture of vintage boho inspired colors in blues, purples, yellows, and greens. The combination was complemented by the choice of florals in these same hues with pops of pinks and peaches.
The ceremony and cocktail hour were a little bit more whimsical with vibrantly-hued floral arrangements and pops of matcha green, burgundy, and coral to complement the surrounding gardens without completely overshadowing the property’s beautiful grounds.
Allie's favorite moment of the day? When the wind picked up and sent Allie's veil flying into the branch of a tree while Lewis was delivering his vows! It was quite a dramatic moment and there was a large, collective gasp from the crowd. Allie kept her cool and they continued the rest of the ceremony without the veil. It worked out perfectly and was joked about as a mid-ceremony “outfit change!”
For dinner, the intimate, al fresco event took place on the lawn of Parker Palm Springs surrounded by tall green hedges and underneath twinkling string lights and stars. The couple wanted to play up the florals, so they opted for crisp, white tablecloths, tall votives with colored candle sticks, and singular bud vases with a variety of flowers and lots and lots of color.

This Fall wedding in Palm Springs is laid back & beautiful
Allie and Lewis opted for a moody textured wedding cake courtesy of Parker Palm Springs accented with deep purple flowers and blackberries. What about for the guests? The couple opted for their favors to be a dessert table where they got to create their own little to-go boxes of a wide selection of sweet treats.
The post-dinner party in the ballroom leaned into a disco/club vibe thanks to Candlelight Designs Inc, Design Sound, and West Coast Music. Mark's Garden also helped create the vibe with darker colors, gold disco balls, candles, rich leathers, and velvets with moodier florals.
