A shared love for Disney and festivals made this next wedding at Castle of Beervelde in Belgium completely magical. Liselotte and Paul planned their day around their favorite things, and with the help of Wonder Weddings it turned out picture perfect without going over the top.
Gorgeous florals and a touch of bohemian charm finished off the overall look that's both fresh and fun. See their beautiful day below, and grab a closer look at all the details in the full gallery from Elisabeth Van Lent Photography.
FromĀ Elisabeth Van Lent Photography: Liselotte en Paul got to know each other at a party where Liselotte was working and Paul was attending. It was love at first sight, but as she was working, they needed several dates after that to really get it going. They found they had a mutual love for Disney, and later also for gaming. During the ceremony, it became clear that they were loved very much by all of their friends and family, as they were one of the kindest people you could imagine. Paul asked Liselotte to marry him in Portofino, Italy. He carefully chose the correct spot at the balcony of Castello Brown with the most magnificent view. After a road trip through Italy, he thought it was the perfect place for a romantic lunch with the best white wine ever, and going on his knee with the big question. Of course, Liselotte answered with a big yes without a doubt.
Liselotte and Paul wanted to get away from the typical stiff Belgian wedding, but still keep several traditions alive. They both have a love for parties, and an even bigger love for Disney, so that is exactly what the day looked like: it was their own festival dream wedding, with a touch of Disney woven through the day. That's why it was important to them that they had a venue where they could style and do everything they wanted (as opposed to typical Belgium venues that often have the same packages and looks).
Wildflowers and Vodka took care of the floral design and it was just marvelous. Wedding planner Joke from Wonder Weddings created the bohemian chique festival of their dreams, with the Castle of Beervelde as the magnificent background for both the ceremony as the dinner and the party. Their love for Disney was especially found in the stationery and in the live music played by the band during the reception. It was a fully Belgian wedding with all Belgian (and one Dutch) wedding vendors, even the dress, shoes and costume!
If you ask Liselotte what she remembers most about her wedding day, she says without a doubt it's the ceremony. It was a very emotional moment that they shared with their loved ones. Liselotte surprised her brand new husband by singing him a song with the voice of an angel. He and all their guests were moved to tears. The catering was provided by one of the companies of their family, and if you ask Liselotte about her biggest regret on the wedding, it's the fact that there was so much good food, that she didn't get to taste everything.
