the proposal
David chose the picturesque sea wall in La Jolla, California for his proposal to Sarah. As they stood overlooking the Pacific Ocean, David got down on one knee and asked Sarah to be his wife, creating a perfect moment against the stunning coastal backdrop.
the venue
Sarah and David selected Fair Haven at the Vineyards, nestled in Arkansas wine country atop St. Mary's Mountain, for both their ceremony and reception. The venue's sophisticated elegance, with its soaring windows and crystal chandeliers, provided the perfect canvas for their classic white and blue color palette with chinoiserie-pattern touches.
the vision: chinoiserie
Sarah and David's wedding day was blessed with perfect weather, as gentle breezes carried the sweet scent of muscadine vines across the grounds. The reception space showcased the couple's attention to detail with low, lush centerpieces in white and blue chinoiserie bowls gracing tables draped in crisp white linens. Working with wedding planner Julianne Darnell of Most Joyful Day, they planned a celebration that would beautifully blend American and Mexican traditions.
getting ready
Clad in elegant satin pajamas trimmed in lace and her bridesmaids in adorable chinoiserie-inspired sets, Sarah and her favorite ladies prepped for the big day. Note the gorgeous chinoiserie vases in each of these getting-ready portraits–that's no accident, that's how you know you've got an expert planner/photographer duo!
the fashion
Sarah was stunning in her Essence of Australia gown, while her bridesmaids complemented the classic aesthetic in pine green dresses.
The groom and his men sported classic black tuxedos accented with white and blue boutonnieres.
the first look
In a heartfelt moment before the ceremony, the two shared a first look on the venue's outdoor patio. David was all smiles when he first set eyes on his beautiful bride.
the flowers
The bride's best friend and bridesmaid, Olivia with Rose of Sharon Floral Design Studio, designed Sarah's dream bouquet featuring white roses, spray roses, ranunculus, scabiosa, and stock, with touches of blue delphinium and Italian Ruscus.
a blend of cultures
What made the celebration truly special was the seamless blend of cultures. The groom's family prepared a feast of traditional Mexican dishes for the reception, and in a touching moment, David's father Salvador performed a special Spanish song for the couple's first dance. Every detail was captured beautifully by photographer April Walsh of Freckled Fox.
the cake
The hand-painted chinoiserie-inspired wedding cake was the icing on top of the entire affair (pun intended 😉). This is the perfect example of how much your wedding cake can impact your overall wedding design.
