After Katie and Justin first met online, they realized they had plenty of overlapping circles of friends and had even been to some of the same weddings! It didn’t take more than one date to know their fate was sealed. Justin had made elaborate plans to propose to Katie but unfortunately found himself in the hospital due to a car accident. The surprise slowly unraveled itself as Katie had to pick up the flowers Justin had ordered for her, and they canceled their dinner reservation. The day Justin came home from the hospital, Katie took their dog out for a quick walk. When she returned home, Justin was waiting with champagne and music, and the two were engaged.

The couple enjoyed a relaxed morning together, getting ready at Katie’s parents' home. Katie wore a classic Mikado ballgown, customized with a playful slit to match her vibrant energy. She wore heirloom jewelry pieces from her grandmother, as well as a cathedral-length veil with elegant trim. We've seen many a church wedding and we know how hard it is to make the already decorated church coordinate with the rest of your wedding. We have to hand it to this couple and Alex Austin Events & Design because their decision to incorporate the blue floral print in the bridesmaid dresses and the deep blue into the groomsmen's attire was spot on! These photos blend seamlessly with the rest of the wedding!

Katie and Justin arrived by trolley to their reception at Forest Creek Golf Club, greeted by a mobile bar cart on the lawn. A champagne seating chart was set for people to enjoy as they entered the indoor venue. It included a large display of blue champagne flutes, candles, and hydrangea florals by Bowerbird Flowers and Apothecary.

Every moment of their day was touched by this floral motif, from stationery to table linens. Place settings even included personalized thank you cards handwritten by the couple. Indoors, floral arrangements were displayed in different styles of baskets and raffia vases. Printed blue linens, blue and white flowers, and soft blue chairs made for elegant decor touches. The party moved to a clear tented reception adjoining the building, complete with a floral-lined stage and dance floor, where Katie transformed and sported a stylish 1960s dress, also from her grandmother’s closet.
