Jill and Andrew planned their blissful I do’s in beautiful Cape Town, South Africa. The relaxed boho vibe was executed flawlessly at Hawksmoor House and featured an elegant indoor ceremony and stunning outdoor reception beneath tall trees all covered in lights.
Edison bulbs and twinkle lights hung above the naturally chic tables filled with florals, lace and pops of gold. This stylish day definitely won’t disappoint! Read + see more below, plus enjoy the full gallery after from Michelle DT Photography.
From Michelle DT Photography: Jill wore a stunning strapless designer gown by New York-based Leanne Marshall. It was perfectly matched by Andrew’s dark forest green Enzo suit. This was my first time photographing the “First Look”. Andrew & Jill decided to see each other before the ceremony and do their couple shoot. They wanted a bit more time to enjoy their pre-drinks and have extra time to relax with their guests. It was such a special moment to be part of. Seeing Andrew’s face as he beholds his bride for the first time was priceless!
Their wedding was the perfect mix of relaxed, laid-back, effortless boho-bliss and elegance! Andrew and Jill planned their luxurious destination wedding all the way from New York. And what an amazing day they had planned for all their friends and family traveling to our beautiful Cape Town! Beneath the tall trees, on Hawksmoor’s lawns, they had the perfect cozy outdoor reception.
What blew me away was how they thought about every single detail and went out of their way to make sure everything was extra special. They even planned the menu, along with the amazing Slippery Spoon Kitchen, to represent both Andrew (being from South Africa) and Jill (being from the US).
From the bride: Our wedding was beyond everything we hoped it would be. Hawksmoor House was the perfect venue for us to have a magical outdoor celebration with our guests who came from around the world. Planning a wedding in South Africa from NYC was not easy, but with the help of so many wonderful people, all of the little details came together to create the perfect ambiance. It was without a doubt the greatest day and night of our lives. Our only words of wisdom would be to make sure you check in with each other often and remind each other to take it all in because it definitely flies by!
South Africa is one of the most spectacular and beautiful places in the world, and we feel so lucky that we were able to have our wedding there. At the same time, another reason we decided to get married in SA instead of the US was that we knew it would be much more affordable. In the end, we were able to have our dream wedding at a much lower cost than what it would have been here.
