We can't tell you enough how much we love a black-tie wedding in the middle of the woods, and when the decor and fashion are this on-point, it just makes it that much better. From the voluminous baby's breath arbor and the petal-lined aisle to the family-style tables with chandeliers and white rose garland centerpieces, Champagne Socialist made sure this wedding flowed so perfectly from one part to the next. How To Have An Adventurous Destination Elopement
July 11, 2016, was our first day of the police academy, it was also Nick’s first memory of me. I was trying to stay under the radar as all aim to do in the academy, but immediately failed at doing so. I was, being punished by a death of push-ups. Nick, who was in fact, flying under the radar, looked over to see who was holding up the line; it was little, struggling, me. Instead of seeing the hot mess I was, he just saw, hot (lol). Somehow the instructors paired Nick and me up as arrest control and shooting partners. I instantly had a crush on him-tall, baby blue eyes, and a great personality who that made me laugh. But alas, this was not the time for romantic entanglements, we had a job to do. Nick and I became friends and kept in contact after the academy was over in January. Our first unofficial date was in March of 2017 at Kupros in downtown Sacramento. The unofficial dates continued and gradually turned into official ones. Nick and I became boyfriend and girlfriend on November 19, 2017, the same day he met my family. Our love is strong, playful, passionate, and built on friendship first.
The bride rocked not one, but two gowns for the big day. For the ceremony, she brought the drama with a beautifully draped fit-and-flare strapless gown and a ballet-length veil. Then, to switch things up for the reception, she pulled her hair up into an effortlessly chic updo and donned a slinky beaded gown that was, *chef's kiss*, perfection!
Note to anyone considering a baby's breath arch for your wedding, make sure the sun will be just behind it during your ceremony because with this backlighting this arch by Helianthus Floral was literally glowing! Between that and the scattered petal aisle, this neutral ceremony was magic! With the dense woods in the background and the manicured lawn, Chalet View Lodge is also the perfect blend of tamed wilderness for a wedding like this.
After the sunset, the couple and their guests gathered together under twinkle lights for dinner and dancing. The table-length floral garland and blown glass candelabras added romance and intrigue to the neutral-toned tablescape. And if you think it was pretty in the daylight, just wait till you see what it looked like at night...
