Los Cabos garden-themed wedding on the beach but off the sand
Brianna and Alec met in Cancun as college seniors during Spring Break of 2018. Over the four years that followed, they often vowed they would say "I do" in Mexico. After Alec proposed to Brianna atop a romantic terrace on a ski trip, it wasn't long until that Mexico dream wedding came to be! When preparing for the big day, Brianna and Alec approached event planner Momentos Weddings & Events with an absolutely captivating idea for their celebration in Los Cabos - They wanted a garden-themed wedding filled with charming details, luxury, and freshness. Mementos was able to create, design, and transform the couple's big day into a series of memorable moments that Daniela Ortiz Photography captured on camera for Brianna and Alec to enjoy for years to come.
Planning a garden-themed wedding
When the couple and Momentos started planning this garden-style destination wedding in Los Cabos, Brianna shared that she wanted a classic but fresh and relaxed wedding. The location and the sea were intended to inspire every detail, making the look grounded, casual, and uncomplicated, while still maintaining a luxurious and charming vibe. It also helped that the designers were easily able to work the couple's spontaneous, caring, and friendly personalities into the wedding design!
Choose your favorites
Right away, the bride and groom knew that the wedding’s aesthetics, the food, the drinks, floral design, and the guests' comfort were their top priorities. Deciding on these most important elements allowed Momentos, Brianna, and Alec to work together in a focused way throughout site visits, trials, and ultimately the wedding day itself.
Oceanview welcome party
The festivities kicked off with a welcome party at the Fairway Terrace overlooking the ocean and the Cabo del Sol golf course. Guests enjoyed two hours of canapés with crispy fried tacos, guacamole, and salpicón tostadas, an open bar, and music by Alex DJ that got everyone dancing.
On the beach but off the sand
For Brianna, it was crucial to get married by the beach, but not on the sand, so a terrace was the perfect choice! Privacy was also important, so the event designers opted for the Imperial Suite at the Grand Fiesta Americana Los Cabos - a stunning space that met all of the couple’s needs. This private suite had its own garden, a terrace, and offered a spectacular ocean view. Let It Bloom was also able to create a gorgeous square floral arch filled with lush greenery and white roses that served as a backdrop for their vows.

A maraca wall seating chart
The wedding color palette was made up of ochre and white. Standout elements of the decor included a maraca wall that served as the seating chart, a long chocolate-colored wooden pathway leading to the altar, and an off-white personalized dance floor that matched the tables.
Dinner inspired by local flavors
Getting married in Los Cabos means fresh food, seafood, and delicious fruity cocktails, so the base menu was inspired by seafood, with the signature dish being a delicious scallop salad dressed with mango mayonnaise and habanero chili. Of course, dinner wasn't complete without drinks, featuring a lime mezcalita and an Aperol spritz!
Wedding cake with a tropical flair
The bride and groom cut into a three-tier white wedding cake adorned with white flowers and tropical green leaves.
A (literally) lit afterparty
For the after-party, Brianna and Alec invited their friends and family to continue celebrating at the property’s Lemon Bar, welcoming guests with a screen displaying both of their names. It was only natural that Brianna donned a more casual second wedding dress for this portion of the celebration!
A second beach look
During the weekend, Brianna and Alec made sure to take a second look photoshoot on the beach with Alec in a more casual pant and white linen shirt and Brianna in a structured sparkly top and white linen pants.
Catamaran goodbye party
The next day, the group goodbye took place on a catamaran, where everyone enjoyed the sea, took an iconic photo at the Arch, and had lunch on board, all while enjoying an open bar.
