From Emily, the bride:
Luke and I wanted a wedding venue that was relaxed and full of personality; we discovered Cayucos Creek Barn and knew we found the perfect place. We wanted our wedding to reflect our personalities and make our guests feel at home. Luke and I are nerds at heart, so we were thrilled to use antique books as our centerpieces. We borrowed all of the books and mismatching antique lace we used as decor. The rest of our decorations were made by hand or found at local thrift stores. Luke spray painted the vases to make our flower arrangements pop. Our flowers were grown locally and put together by our dear friend Bethany Sechler who works at Santa Ynez Valley Florist. Finding out that the famous Splash Cafe (San Luis Obispo, CA) catered was a dream come true. They created a healthy and filling meal for our guests with fruit skewers, salad, and assorted sandwiches. All of the food was made from scratch and with local produce. We saved a great deal of money using biodegradable dinnerware. Our friend Kielly Lewis (Back to Eden Bakery in Portland,OR) combined some of our favorite flavors to create our vegan cupcakes, which were a hit. Guests were thrilled with the photo booth and enjoyed pictures as keepsakes. Moore Photography captured our wedding flawlessly and creatively. We were incredibly blessed by our artistic friends and vendors who lovingly reflected our taste. They took our whimsical ideas and made them become reality.
