From the Bride: My Dad and I decided to hold hands down the aisle, instead of arm in arm. He was able to later describe why he did this in his speech/toast, but the idea around it was to show what holding hands meant to both of us over the years and what it meant to me in the transition from his hand to Brad's hand in my grownup life.
My mom was planning my wedding even before I was engaged to Brad! She was stock piling in my families garage and shed, just waiting for the day when she could reveal all of her treasures and ideas for my wedding.
The theme behind my wedding was "Shabby Chic"; my mom loved saying this phrase every chance she was given. The "shabby chic" theme went well with the idea of an outdoor wedding, that was being held at The Evan's Ranch. The main colors of the day were slate and blush pink, with accents of blue and green.
It was also very important for us to make our friends, our biggest supporters, feel special that day as well. One way, for me personally, was to break the tradition of having a single maid of honor, and have two! Becca and Laura were both very special to me and I knew they would work great together with the responsibilities of the maid of honor role.
