Backyard Colorado Wedding With A Spanish Flair

Newlyweds holding hands and walking down a country road happily

Having a backyard wedding can truly be magical. You are familiar with the space, you don't have to worry if your date is available, and best of all the location is free. Even though you have eliminated the venue cost, you are now essentially creating your own wedding venue - creating spaces for the ceremony, reception, and taking into account Mother Nature and all her furry. So many factors to consider before running to your backyard to see if 100-250 guests can comfortably fit.
Our next couple took the challenge head on and as you will see the results turned out beautifully. Although the night before their wedding there was a huge storm, but luckily the day of the wedding there was nothing but blue skies and the smell of fresh rain. Doesn't that sound  magical? Candlelit chandeliers hung from the enoromous tree, that stood as the backdrop for the wedding ceremony and provided shade for guests. If you don't have a large tree in your backyard to provide shade, Sun Shades is a great option, and they can be used again.

Their backyard wedding reception had a shabby chic vibe. With flower filled mugs from Anthropologie that rested on antique doilies. They cleverly used vintage doors for tables and kept the knobs on. To tie in a little Spanish flair, custom Papel Picado Banners were made. Mexican bottled sodas soaked in an ice bath. Instead of a traditional plated dinner, they wanted to give the guests to feel like they were visiting Mexico. Guests dined on fresh hot tacos, salsa, and even quesadilla's street vendor style.
