After 11 years together, Chris and Shannon's wedding was not only a celebration of their long-lasting love but an opportunity to let their creativity and unique personalities shine. Shannon was no amateur when it came to weddings; she's actually a wedding planner, graphic designer, and artist!
From the bride:
"When it came to the wedding I felt a lot of pressure, as you can imagine. Expectations were high due to my careers and after making our friends and family wait over a decade for this day, we had to deliver! I didn't just want my wedding to be pretty. I wanted it to be warm, personal and feel like us."

Shannon highly recommends to other brides to rent an Airbnb near their venue for the whole family to get ready in! Staying in a large house allowed for more room for everyone to stay and get ready together (as opposed to traditional separated hotel rooms), have their first look, as well as host an after party and next day brunch.
We love this playful first look! As Chris is a stand up comedian, he couldn't help but laugh at his bride's way of grabbing his attention.
To begin designing her wedding, Shannon started with picking out a palette - landing on vibrant and warm tones she refers to as "soft fall". Her bridal party colors perfectly display the color tones and textures seen throughout the rest of the wedding details.
For the backdrop of their "I Do's", Pomme Radnor is a luscious woodland estate straight out of a fairytale. With swans, swings, and timeless design, this venue was perfect for the personal touches the bride and groom wanted to incorporate.
The lush greenery was complemented by the colorful fall inspired floral palette and details. The beautiful florals were created by Fabufloras Floral & Event Design.
Personal details were a huge touchstone of Chris and Shannon's wedding design:
"Personalization was super important to us. I designed and created all of the signage and print materials as well as our invitations. We put little Pokemon figurines in the arch since we love playing Pokemon Go together. I dedicated a seat to my late father with a custom sign, carried a memorial charm with his photo as well as my nana's and had a memorial table with photos of additional loved ones that had passed."
This mirror welcome sign is the first of many art and mirror themed details that Shannon's design team would include in the big day.

After selecting their "soft fall" color palette, Shannon and Chris chose "art" as their overarching theme for their design. Shannon was immediately inspired to include different art pieces and mirrors into their reception details.
"I wanted to create a gallery wall using art and mirrors for the table assignments. I also included a quote reading, "In a room full of art, I'd still stare at you." This inspired me to incorporate more art related quotes on mirrors throughout the space. We kept the art theme going by placing art around the room (some off of our own walls!), using paint palettes as table numbers and hand painting mini canvases as favors for our guests. The canvases doubled as seat assignments and we hand wrote personalized notes to each of our guests on the back."
This impressive floral wall was created by Nicol Floral Design - we love the pops of fall color against the neutral tone buds!
For their signature cocktail, they served "Nana June's Manhattan" - a dedication to the bride's late grandmother who loved to drink a daily Manhattan. We should take a page out of Nana June's book!
Even their cake was a work of art! With oil paint inspired frosting, Frosted Fox Cake Shop crafted a cake that perfectly matched the artful theme.
Shannon's biggest advice to bride's planning their wedding:
"As a professional wedding planner and recent bride, my advice to other couples is to focus on what makes your relationship special and unique, and carry that into the day. Hire a wedding planner! If I wasn’t a planner myself, hiring someone I trust with a shared vision would have been my top priority. Luckily, I had my partners to lean on and bring my vision to life and I couldn’t be more grateful."
Congratulations Shannon and Chris!
