If you are truly looking for a couple who who made an unexpected statement to have a wedding THEIR WAY... then we have the perfect Couple for you! Not only did every last detail of their wedding perfectly reflect WHO THEY ARE as a couple, but it DEFINITELY re-wrote every wedding rule possible... that ole book was thrown WAY out the door... like FOR REAL!
Read on to hear from Chrissy Gilmartin Photography who photographed this over the top fun wedding at Long Beach Masonic Lodge and check out all the super fun photos in the full gallery.
To start... The mere fact that they had nearly 250 people show up to their shindig in the most AMAZING and well planned costumes ever, was simply insane! Then add to that a bride sporting a vintage 80's prom dress, thrift store find in Austin while at her bridal shower, with a dapper, all in powder blue, straight off the movie set of The Wedding Singer, groom waiting at the end of the aisle... YESSSS!! I would say he was definitely her best choice for "something blue"!!
From Chrissy Gilmartin Photography -Honestly... the surprises were never ending... Ring pops galore ( Alex actually proposed to Gretchen with a ring pop), light up high top sneakers they changed into for the reception, rainbow colored rose bridal bouquet, a unicorn cake and drumsticks for dessert, and a shirtless, superhero ADORABLE little boy ( Alex's nephew) for a ring bearer... It is by far the RADDEST wedding I have ever shot, and the most epic reception I have ever seen!
The officiant (Gretchen's best friend) danced into the ceremony to "Another One Bites the Dust" by Queen . The groom strolled in with his parents to "What a Man" By Salt-N-Pepa. The kids walked in to "Crazy little thing called love" by Queen and The bride and her FAB parents danced in to "Chapel of Love" by the Dixie cups!!
And after they said I do on stage... they did the FLOSS!!! Dancing off the stage and back out of the ceremony to the lovely " The Power of Love" by Huey Luis...
This was NO ORDINARY wedding and broke every last rule ever made... and it was most definitely the "Costume Party of the Quadrennium!!
Every last detail completely reflected who these amazing humans are as a couple... and what they value in life... I am not sure I have ever met two more fun loving, live life to the fullest, live in the moment souls ... and I think that this mentality is needed more than ever in today's troubling times!! So I hope as you scroll through this small sampling of their FAB day that you see and feel what I did as I was editing them... LOVE.. LAUGHTER... and LIFE!
