Julie and Steven tied the knot at a gorgeous little Virginia venue, Clover Forest Plantation. This rural central Virginia wedding venue was the perfect backdrop for their dark purple and coral wedding.
Look out for tons of Swiss Dots. This playful pattern created unity through the wedding. They decorated everything from the darling stationery from Jules Design to her wedding gown bodice. I'm excited to share my amazing wedding day with you! We wanted our wedding to represent my now husband and I as a couple. My main inspiration for the day was my dress, Coco, by Hayley Paige. I loved the Swiss dots on the bodice of the dress and decided to use Swiss dots in other aspects of the wedding decor.
We used Swiss dots in the linen overlays, cake, invitations, and even the paper straws for drinks. I also wanted to incorporate a unique color palette and ended up choosing the perfect shade of dark purple and coral/peach shades for the big day.
During the planning process, I was all about the details. I love succulents so I decided to use them as both the wedding favors and escort cards. The guests loved them! I purchased a few of the details such as the birdcage, the cake topper, purple poms, Mr. & Mrs. Cake Forks, and advice cardholder.
We heard, that you have been wondering where to get this overlay from. Drum roll please.... the Swiss dot overlay can be rentedĀ from Linen Effects
But, for the most part we chose to DIY the details to bring our special touch to the day. I hand painted purple Mr. & Mrs. Chair signs, etched Mr. & Mrs. Champagne glasses, and also etched Swiss dots on some of the glass candles. Since I am a graphic designer, I designed all of the printed materials for the big day. This included the invitations, programs, menus, advice cards, all of the chalkboard inspired signs, and table numbers.
