Tips on having a timeless wedding from wedding stylists Imagine… I believe that creating timeless weddings that exude elegance is an art form I’ve developed over time as a seasoned wedding planner. I work closely with creatives who effortlessly blend timeless design elements with a hint of each couple’s personal touches. Social media opens the door for many trendy elements so I use discretion when it comes to incorporating some of these ideas into the overall feel of the wedding. It is important to share with client’s that their wedding can embody tradition without feeling dated.
This breathtaking wedding venue was affected by the devastating mudslides that affected the central coast in 2018. Currently, they are performing an extensive cleanup. Unfortunately, San Ysidro Ranch is closed for business until further notice.
Hopefully, you're reading this in the future and they are re-open and booking weddings again.
From the bride:
I met Orlando through his sister, with whom I had become fast friends at school. I spent many wonderful evenings at their apartment, eating home-cooked Italian meals and enjoying great conversation. After several months of friendship, Orlando and I realized we had feelings for each other and began dating.
We decided to get married in late 2015 after almost seven years together. Because he is Italian and most of his friends and family reside in Europe, we knew a December wedding would enable his loved ones to join us over the holiday period. That gave us about three months to plan our wedding.
When it came to picking the venue, San Ysidro Ranch turned out to be the perfect choice for us. I had grown up in the area and always loved how romantic and elegant it was while being understated at the same time. Our ceremony was held in the beautiful gardens, followed by a cocktail hour in the Hydrangea Cottage. The Stonehouse Restaurant and its covered, heated terrace provided the perfect place for a semi-outdoor reception in December.
Since we opted to get married in my country rather than Orlando's, it was important to us that we incorporate a few special touches to honor his Italian culture. His parents brought with them the traditional Italian wedding favor called confetti (sugared almonds) for our guests. Orlando said his vows in English, while I said mine in Italian. Our amazing DJ played a mix of Motown classics and old Italian hits that kept everyone on their feet until the end of the night. We had an amazing day and an absolute blast, surrounded by our family, friends, and the beauty of San Ysidro Ranch.
We are in awe of this eucalyptus garland created by Flower Wild, who creates truly inspiring florals. When you scroll down, you'll also see she providing the statement lanterns in the reception that really do add that extra touch to the event. See more of her work here.
