A Tented Wedding Like You’ve Never Seen

The bride and groom, Dena and Geoff, were living in Seattle but Dena’s roots are in Carrollton, Georgia where her father maintains a gorgeous property with the most beautiful barn. Mr. Adams rides polo ponies and wanted to involve that in some way if at all possible. The couple's rehearsal dinner was planned at the polo barn with a very relaxed feel and the evening incorporated fair-themed elements as Dena and Geoff went to the Washington State Fair on their first date. The party was moved inside due to weather but the evening was joyful and light-hearted with games - giant Jenga, giant tic-tac-toe, giant Connect Four - etc and a fair vibe. 

That evening the bride's father announced an impromptu polo match on their property the next morning! He promised to be on time for photos with Eric Kelly and the team and he made it just in time. 

The reception was never going to be formal - nobody in this group wanted that - so a large 10,000 sq ft tent was built over the home’s pool with room for the band and dancing, food stations, seating, mingling space, etc. The tent had a gorgeous pale blue fabric ceiling, drum shades, furniture groupings with large greenery displays, and a white dance floor with the couple’s new monogram in gold. 

The food included Southern favorites such as fried quail and fried green tomatoes and there were late night chicken biscuits and specialty coffees for the ride home. 

The color palette was soft and romantic but incorporated the groom’s favorite color (blue) and the bride’s favorite color (soft pink). For the flowers we used garden roses, dahlias, ranunculus, etc. and a lot of gorgeous greenery. While building the floral pieces for the wedding day we saw a fantastic vintage car in the family’s garage. There couldn’t have been a more perfect get-away car! Honestly, it was discovered the morning of the wedding and had to be jump started but we loved it and how it just “materialized”!
