Casey and Jacob are two of those rare and wonderful people that instantly make you feel welcomed and comfortable in their presence. Funny, smart, attractive, kind... I can't say enough good things about them, and nor could the dozen or so people who stood up to toast them on their wedding day - proof that it's not just me that thinks so!
They held their wedding at Pine River Ranch in Leavenworth, WA on a day when both routes from Seattle backed up for miles. The ceremony was put on hold until everyone arrived (which gave Jacob and his groomsmen lots of extra time to research the proper way to fold a silk handkerchief), and everything was pushed back in order to accomodate the later start time. The ceremony was just gorgeous... Jacob played (and sang) a song he wrote that brought more than one person to tears (and it was *excellent* - seriously!), and the sun peeked out at all the opportune moments as if signaling from the heavens that all of this was meant to be.
Once we ran through our posed family photographs, the wedding planner let us know that because of the delayed ceremony, we had about seven minutes to take our posed portraits before needing to head towards the barn for the reception, and Casey and Jacob were CHAMPS! In no time they were in position, shining brilliant smiles and striking all the right poses, and I dare say, I do think we made that seven-minute cut off! I'll take this moment to mention that this is one of the many wonderful benefits of having an engagement shoot (you can see Casey and Jacob's here)... that awkwardness many of us feel in front of the camera is long-gone by the wedding day.
Thank you both for everything - It was a pleasure!
