Davy, Davy Crockett: King of the wild frontier! Just in case you haven't caught the 1950's tv show, actor Fess Parker played the titular role of Davy Crockett, a frontiersmen who fights and hunts to stay alive... a bit of a long ways away from Mr. Parkers granddaughters wedding day style, but Olivia and Jonathan did have several homages to the coon capped character the bride's family was known for.
You will find a plethora of elegant rustic winery chic decor as you keep scrolling. Trust us, there is plenty there to love, but you are definitely going to want to check out the full gallery of images provided to us by photographer Jenny Quicksall and sponsor Be Inspired PR.
It was Olivia Parker and Jonathan Swift’s wedding. Olivia is the granddaughter of the famous actor, Fess Parker. Fess Parker famously portrayed the frontiersman Davy Crockett who made the Coonskin Cap an icon, and Daniel Boone in two television series.
We met in high school. I was a freshmen, he was a junior. I was friends with his sister Lauren. We talked and went on a couple dates (over the course of like, two weeks), until he turned 18 when we went our separate ways. Years later, we met up again at a race in Parker, Arizona through mutual friends and instantly hit it off again. He ended up driving me home from Arizona and we’ve been together since. It will be 5 years in February.
The morning of, I was getting ready for work. I usually curl my hair, do my make up and get all cute. But that morning, I didn’t HA. We were headed to Vegas for a race the next day and I figured I’d give my hair and face a rest since I knew I’d have to be all dolled up all weekend. I left home from Camarillo and headed to the Winery in Los Olivos where I was working that day. I had been there for maybe 30 minutes, helping a co worker wash some glasses in the back and prepping for the day. Jack, another co worker came into the back and said I had a “visitor”. I walked out into the tasting room to see Jonathan standing there looking a little flustered (so cute). When I approached him he almost immediately pulled out the ring from his pocket and got down on one knee. My heart dropped and I instantly said YES! After, we picked up sandwiches from Paninos in Los Olivos and headed to the top of the ranch property (where we will be having the ceremony) and celebrated with food and champagne. He even bought the prettiest champagne flutes to celebrate with (rose gold, my fave).
The Parker family owns Fess Parker Winery in Los Olivos and the Fess Parker Double Tree Hotel in SB. Olivia and Jonathan’s chose to have their wedding at their winery in Southern California!! The ceremony was held under an oak tree that they planted for Fess Parker when he passed in 2010. She is the first and only bride to ever be married in that spot!
To honor her grandfather, the Coonskin Cap became their wedding symbol. It can be found throughout the details of their wedding… the invitations, wax seals and the photobooth backdrop.
