In October, during the pandemic period and the war in our country, I filmed the wedding of wonderful guys from Russia. There were no guests, only them, me and the driver, who drove us to the mountains in an old vintage car. Since the embassy also did not accept couples for registration, they had to do the ceremony straight at the location, which was again witnessed by me and the driver. Everything was very beautiful and touching. There were no vendors, everything was organized by the bride, even the dress was sewed by her.
The goal was not only to shoot everything in the mountains, but also to take some shots in their favorite café (the first one they used when they moved to live in Yerevan), show the beauty of cinema, convey the emotions of the couple and show them from the creative side, since she is a designer, and he is a musician. I also wanted to show that in these difficult times I want to move on, to find beauty in everything.
Igor is a musician / drummer from St. Petersburg. Alyona is a fashion designer from Moscow, and as a hobby she started to take drums lessons. And when she was attending the concerts she was drawing attention to the musicians to watch how the drummers play. Once she attend the concert of the group, where Igor played and she liked him.
After some time, we met on social networks, and after three years we started dating. The first year of relations we lived in two cities: on Fridays after work she flew to St. Petersburg, and on Monday she flew back to Moscow to work. But a year later they decided that such a schedule would be enough for them and she moved to Igor. And a year later she was offered a job in Armenia and moved in Yerevan.
They fell in love with this country, with its incredible nature! And they started often to travel around the country. Once they went to a national reserve in the north of the country to Lake Arpi. They walked there, enjoyed the beauty of this place, and unexpectedly for Alyona Igor took her hand...."I caught a glimpse that the other hand was in his pocket. Then he got down on one knee and tears began to flow out of me, everything immediately became like a fog. I could not believe what this was happening and was crying and laughing at the same time: I was incredibly happy. There is a one Soviet film, a fairy tale "Scarlet Sails" and there is a phrase: "if a person's soul longs for a miracle. Give him this miracle. " And Igor made for me this little miracle!
The idea of the wedding was a retro road movie. The couple wanted to achieve exactly the spirit and atmosphere of retro movies. The groom was in a blue three-piece suit and a white tie. The bride got two looks. First is jersey dress with bare shoulders for a photo shoot in a wine bar. And the second outfit for the trip itself consisted of a man's shirt (a gift from a friend a couple of years ago), a taffeta skirt that Alyona designed by herself and a wide belt. And of course she made a veil and a hair flower. More about the venue: First, we shot a photo shoot at the InVino wine bar, and then went on a trip out of town. And at the final point of our journey, a real surprise awaited us.
Due to the pandemic, the couple refused to have guests and witnesses at the wedding, but they still had a witness - the majestic Mount Ararat! The mount is coming to be visible very rarely, even when the sun is shining, a big cloud always covers the top. But on that day it was clearly visible to us and it was very symbolic for the couple, as the images of Ararat were applied on the back side of the rings!
The songs of the day: Le Flex - Kiss me, The Turtles - Happy Together, and Missing Persons - Surrender Your Heart.
