Though their dream of a big wedding had to be reconfigured, thanks to COVID, this couple still ended up with the romantic wedding of their dreams! It all started when they found the perfect church, it was right in the middle of the city and situated by a gorgeous lake. The two had always dreamed of getting married by a lake, and now their dreams were coming true! They started the day with a traditional Chinese tea ceremony and then made a quick outfit change for their church ceremony.
The Wedding Inspired worked with the couple to plan their wedding and helped them navigate the tricky task of cutting their guest list. Once Wedding Decoration created one of the most stunning floral arches we've ever seen–in fact, you can't even call it an arch because it's a full circle! The couple moved between two luxurious venues, The Ritz-Carlton, Hong Kong and W Hong Kong, as they prepared for their big day and held their tea ceremony. Mattography followed the couple, getting every special moment on video for those that couldn't be there in person and for them to cherish for years to come. Belle & Olive and Lukas Chan Photo Lab took these beautiful photos that capture the love between the couple and the union of their two families. YT and YK's wedding was a small-scale wedding during the Covid-19 outbreak in Hong Kong. Early this year, the HKSAR government imposed a limit of twenty people for wedding ceremonies. Nevertheless, they insisted to go on with their wedding, even if it had to be an intimate one. Lukas Chan, the photographer from Lukas Chan Photo Lab and Belle & Olive, and Matthew, the videographer from Mattography were there to record this special day. All the makeup and hair were done by De Blanc from Xing Maquillage. The invitation design and vow books were made by The Rushing Water Calligraphy .
The day started with a Chinese wedding tradition. YK's mum and the bridesmaids dressed her in a kwa from Koon Nam Wah Bridal, the Chinese traditional dress. The groom and groomsmen later came to pick up the bride at The Ritz-Carlton, Hong Kong, and the tea ceremony took place at The Ritz-Carlton, Hong Kong, and W Hong Kong. The wedding ceremony was held at a Christian church next to a lake in the afternoon. The lake and the church are an unusual combination in Hong Kong. Setting their wedding at a church, next to a lake in nature, was such a dream for both of them.
All of the decoration was done by Once Wedding Decoration. Since YT and YK first met each other in Paris during a university study trip, they incorporated an Eiffel Tower and postcards they bought in Paris as part of their decoration. For the welcome board, they adopted the calligraphy designed by Whalewhispers Calligrapher, who had designed the love letter for their engagement. At the ceremony, YK dressed in a wedding gown from Designer Bridal Room, with a bouquet designed by Origami Florist. Although it was such a small-scale wedding and many of their relatives and friends could only "attend" the wedding via live-streaming, it was still a beautiful day that they will never forget.
