From Hunter Ryan Photo: Mary & Luke's wedding was held at Mary's parents home in St Petersburg, Florida. After her sister had married there just a few years prior - she knew she wanted to be married there too. Out of all the possible venues - her home was definitely the most important.
She and Luke had a dual Christian ceremony, with an American pastor as well as the Father from her family's home church - the Syriac Orthodox church. So the ceremony was both in English and Aramaic. Mary's family is of middle eastern decent - so honoring their church and culture was paramount throughout their day. One of the most special parts of their day was Mary & her father descending the steps of the home at their front door - where countless memories have been made - on her walk down the aisle to meet her groom.
Tracie of Tracie Domino Events, and MMD Events helped transform her family's property into a jewel toned ballroom under the stars. The reception really highlighted their middle eastern heritage as well. Guests received traditional Arabic dancing scarves to dance the night away with, the duo danced to traditional circle dances together with their families, and her family even flew in a Middle Eastern DJ team and drummer to entertain guests. The dancefloor was packed all night!
The couple chose a traditional wedding cake -but also featured an assortment of sweets that they also had flown in from Detroit, Michigan - home to one of their favorite middle eastern bakeries. These were served with their favorite middle eastern coffee as well.
