Tessa and Logan threw one hip and vibrant weekend wedding celebration in the woods at The Evergreen Lodge just outside of Yosemite. This fun-loving couple wanted to highlight the natural surroundings and chose to keep their decor sweet and simple throughout, while keeping their guests entertained with a slew of weekend activities to celebrate.
The bride’s unique and gorgeous mini gown designed in collaboration with Puey Quinones was picture perfect for the hike out to their woodsy ceremony site and relaxed wedding vibe. Check out the highlights from their day below and in the full gallery captured by Los Arroyo. And don’t miss the brides budget breakdown after!
From the bride: I worked in collaboration with Puey Quinones, who now designs for Coco Melody, to custom design my dress! It was initially supposed to be a lace jumpsuit with train detail. Two weeks before the wedding, I tried it on to find out it wasn’t comfortable enough for me to make the hike to the ceremony in! We decided to cut off the pants and make it a mini dress instead! I was ecstatic with the outcome! It was just perfect. I wore Sierra booties by Vince in grey suede and white python. My husband, Logan, wore a blue wool suit from J. Crew. He wore handmade leather boots from Tawny Goods.
When we found our venue, the Evergreen Lodge, just outside of Yosemite Park in Groveland, California, our wedding details really came together! We decided to let the surroundings be the highlight of our event. This awesome venue had the most amazing options for our ceremony. Our unconventional setting also set the tone for our invitation, clothes, and details!
All of our graphics were made by this super talented graphic designer, Wes Robinson. He worked with us to really personalize each item. He helped us with the save-the-date graphic, invitation and seating chart. Our DJ was so much more than a DJ. Dean Henderson at Royal Entertainment was so knowledgeable, he worked with our coordinator at the venue to really kind of help us plan everything! It was such a pleasant surprise! We also could not imagine anyone but Sam and Josh from Arroyo Films documenting our day. We love their work so much and feel so lucky to have worked with them.
There were so many amazing moments that come to mind when we look back at everything. From the surprise Broadway Hamilton performance by my family where they changed “Alexander Hamilton” to our last names “Sugay-Bartholomew”, to the impromptu Michael Jackson dance-off during the reception, to the entire party singing Don’t Stop Believin’ to end the night. We couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out.
