Sara and Adam met in 2011 while attending dentist school and were immediately drawn to each other. After they graduated, they went their separate ways but committed to a long-distance relationship. After several years of driving back and forth, and dating for seven years, these two dentists finally got engaged and started searching for a wedding venue.
They knew from the very moment they walked the grounds that the Estancia La Jolla Hotel and Spa in San Diego, CA, was the perfect wedding venue. Sara and Adam were inspired by all the lush greens on the property and envisioned a green and white wedding with gold accents. Their event planner and designer Sweet Blossom Weddings made their vision come to life. Keep reading! Sweet Blossom Weddings shares all the behind details. From Sweet Blossom Weddings- Sarah’s dress was a mermaid silhouette gown with a sweetheart neckline by Martina Liana, which was purchased from The White Flower bridal boutique in San Diego. The gown had a pretty dramatic train with beautiful lace which she thought went perfectly with the Spanish style venue of Estancia.
Nancy Lobo Florals took Sarah’s vision of lots of white flowers with bright greenery inspired by the venue and San Diego, and she did a fabulous job making that vision come to life.
Besides the invitations, Sarah and Adam DIY'ed all of their paper details (menus, escort cards, and signage) from Etsy. They continued the clean, simple, but elegant theme with their paper goods, and added gold accents throughout.
One piece of advice to brides to be would be to absolutely invest in a wedding planner! Adam and Sarah had been planning their San Diego wedding from Oregon and had been super busy with their dental residency program. Melissa, with Sweet Blossom Weddings!
One of the most memorable and favorite parts of their wedding day was, of course, their ceremony when Filipino wedding traditions were incorporated. Since Sarah has a large Filipino family, it was important to pay tribute to her family's heritage and their wedding traditions.
Another unforgettable part was the amazing Lucky Devil's Band, who had everyone on the dance floor all night long! It was so important to Sarah and Adam that their guests had a great time at their reception, so the band was one of their first vendors secured to ensure this happened.
