The three-day celebration began with a whimsical welcome dinner underneath a canopy of trees and chandeliers beside our fairytale castle, Chateau Challain. The decor was minimal, yet impactful, with fluffy garden roses, white peonies and details such as white daisies complementing the heart-shaped cheese platters.
The following morning, we awoke to tropical storm warnings for the Loire Valley in the French countryside. Every fear of ours was exposed, but we refused to allow the wedding day to take place indoors.
The morning was spent with the men throwing their glasses up for a cheers in the King Suite with a red velvet billiard table, and the girls sipping on champagne and sharing some laughs before the bride and groom's first look - at which point we led our bride down the cascading spiral staircase from her tower suite, reminiscent of Disney's Rapunzel with a four-poster bed, vintage French chest and a view of the formal gardens.
The couple continued on with the photographer and videographer for portraits, led throughout the gardens which transformed into another land full of greenery as they crossed the castle's bridge into the forest and circled the pond.
Upon ceremony time, our fingers were crossed as we sent the bride outside to walk down an aisle trimmed with green hedges, towards a dreamy white chuppah of cascading white flowers in contrast to the thunderous dark skies.
Miraculously, the storm held off - passing right over us in-between the ceremony and reception, during which time the guests were all inside for a two-hour cocktail hour. Guests found their seats outside by way of glasses of champagne that held their escort cards as stirrers. Dinner was served on gold plates to match the gold chairs, each table hosting a floral candelabra centerpiece, which replicated the four-tiered cake adorned with cascading white and blush roses.
The famous Shine Live Band from Paris kicked off the reception, jumping on the table and getting everyone out to the dance floor. They continued the party outside through a personal firework display, until 1:30 a.m. when the rain finally came. At this point, we embraced the magic of nature that saved the day and the dance floor became an epic water dance party with colorful disco lights lighting up the castle as a backdrop. Nothing else seemed to matter as the couple's love and energy radiated through till the next morning, as everyone sat in the formal dining room for a farewell breakfast and chance to reminisce on their amazing celebration.
