Joey and Shyann met in college and have a beautiful daughter, and they wanted to have a vow renewal to celebrate their love and life together. Read on, Shyann goes into more detail about their sweet love story. She also shares information on how she got her faux Grace Loves Lace wedding dress.
Wedding Planner and Baker (love this job title) Village Baking Co designed the most lovely day for these two at Maple Rock Farm. A wedding venue located in the heart of Parsonsfield, Maine. This beautiful event space is famous for what the locals refer to as "The Big Red Barn," a New England style farmhouse. Taylor goes into more detail about the farm, the decor, and their special day. From The Bride: I got my dress from preownedweddingdresses.com. The backstory was the girl had a replica hand made by her friend to mock the Grace Loves Lace, Inca Dress. I was obsessed with it but couldn't afford the price tag.
She and her fiancé live in Colorado and they were going to do a mountain elopement but his family caused a big ordeal about it and they ended up postponing the whole wedding so it never got worn. I ended up getting the dress and was able to wear it at my vow renewal.
From Taylor Wedding Planner and Baker of Village Baking Co- When I first came across Maple Rock Farm I imagined so many beautiful weddings and elopements that could take place there. Each nook and cranny of the farm had so much to offer for anyone that wanted to have a unique destination wedding in true Maine fashion.
The rolling mountains in the backdrop of the colorful fall foliage. The big red barn nestled in-between 250 apple trees and a driveway adorned with 100-ye Sugar Maple trees. What better way to start off a lifetime of love with a place that feels just as cozy as home.
As my vision started coming to curation I wanted to use as many elements of the farm as possible. Their day began by getting ready and writing their vows in the beautiful farmhouse.
A first look and a cozy photo session were had in the front of the farmhouse, with a canopy of maple trees flowing around them. Also take note of the insanely beautiful tree that Bounty O'Bloom's adorned with a variety of florals in fall colors.
My vision for Joey and Shyann’s vow renewal was to make it as special as I could with combined elements of their hometowns.
Shyann grew up in Appleton, Maine. A small little town off the coast of Maine. Joey grew up in New Hampshire, both true to their New England Roots. Shyann is a very free-spirited mom with a background and love for sustainable food. Maple Rock Farm was a perfect place for them to renew their vows together.
I met my husband during my senior year of college, we had been in the same friend group for years but somehow never connected ourselves. He was working full-time but was coming around almost every day just to visit our group of friends and coming out on the weekends (and even some weeknights).
We started spending time together with one on one and it was an obvious and instant connection. I fell, and I fell hard. As I wrapped up my final year of school I had to make the decision to go back to where I'm originally from in Maine or stay in New Hampshire; needless to say I chose New Hampshire. Four years later and he's still unlike anyone I've ever met; a heart of gold, genuine, caring and smart. He's now my husband, and the father of one beautiful daughter and another one on the way.
Words can't describe what it's like to watch your best friend grow as a friend to your life partner and into a father, but it's pretty unbelievably amazing. Some people say their favorite love story is their own, and for us, that will always be true.
The couple read their vows to one another in the field with the mountains peeking through in the background. To tie in Shyann’s strong beliefs on living a sustainable life. They walked out of their vow renewal in a flurry of dried flowers.
A dinner followed in the orchard with a vintage truck transformed into a pizza oven from Rustic Taps.
The couple had a dinner for two amongst the apple orchard under twinkle lights. They enjoyed all the beautiful wedding cakes baked by planner and baker, Village Baking Co. Such an incredibly beautiful setting at this Maine wedding venue.
