After dating for 10 years, Jen and Jason’s wedding weekend in Cleveland, Ohio was a total dream come true. These two planned an epic wedding at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame that included an amazing ceremony with a dramatic backdrop and a gorgeous black and white reception beautifully styled by Kirkbrides Wedding Planning & Design.
Fashion was one of the brides main priorities and she shined in her gorgeous Monique L'huillier dress and Louboutin heels, and just wait till you see her dramatic reception look in red and white! You can feel all the love between these two and we’re excited to share their stylish day with you. Catch all the highlights below from Kortnee Kate Photography and in the full gallery.
From the bride: Jason and I met and started dating our Freshman year of college at Indiana University in Bloomington. After college I moved to NYC to work with the business side of the fashion industry, and Jason went on to pursue his career in law in NYC by attending New York Law School. After being together for 9 years at this point, Jason took me on a surprise trip to Disney World for my 28th birthday. Telling me that it would be a great way to celebrate my birthday together by watching fireworks at the big castle ... that night he proposed to me in front of the big princess castle, at the fireworks display with thousands of people watching. I was completely surprised thinking that we were there just for my birthday and would have never guessed that was his big surprise... He later told me that was his plan all along that he hoped I would never suspect anything at Disney World and that he wanted me to feel like a princess, it really was magical.
After the excitement of the engagement started to settle down, we immediately starting thinking about where we should have our wedding with my being from Cleveland and Jason from New York it was difficult, but we decided to keep it traditional by going with the brides hometown of Cleveland. Knowing that about half of the guests would be traveling to Cleveland for the event we wanted to make sure that we centered our weekend around downtown Cleveland, and something that was really exciting. After viewing all of the amazing choices Cleveland has to offer, we decided on the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame for its wow factor and we really wanted to make sure it was the MOST FUN party for our guests so their stage, sound and lighting setup was perfect for this. We chose the House of Blues in Cleveland for our rehearsal dinner which was so much fun and absolutely perfect.
We realized it was essential to find a great wedding planner due to our busy lives in NYC, with Jason working as an Attorney and myself working in fashion, time is precious and that brought us to Kirkbrides wedding planning! The wedding planning process was really interesting and so fun to be able to see your vision come to life, all with the help of Kirkbrides by my side to help with any ideas, questions or coordination. I knew that with our venue choice of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame that we would need to keep all decor to Black and White to blend with all of the colors the museum has to offer, and it turned out to be perfect!
Working in the fashion industry it was important to me that Jason and I loved our outfits for the whole weekend. About 5 months before our wedding I accepted an amazing job opportunity to join Christian Dior, and since I had already chosen most of my attire it was important for me to incorporate Christian Dior into our wedding weekend! I did this by wearing my favorite Dior bag (a micro Lady Dior Jason bought me for my birthday) to the rehearsal dinner and wearing Dior shoes for my party outfit (look #2) the night of the wedding.
