Katrina and Nick wanted their wedding to be fun, colorful, and bursting with love. To accomplish this they incorporated some unique tidbits into their wedding — like a reading from the velveteen rabbit during the ceremony, ice cream instead cake and a sequin heart boutonniere instead of flower.
A day filled with bright colors, lots of love and super fun details designed by Bash Please, and photographed by The Why We Love. There is so much more to see of this bright and whimsical wedding in the full gallery here. You will not want to miss them!
From The Bride:My wedding was a truly special day that I will cherish forever. I want to relive it again and again through our pictures from The Why We Love. The only thing that I would have done differently is to rent some fans/AC units for the chapel. Unfortunately, we did not realize until the day of (through lack of communication) that there was no AC. I don't remember the heat (I was too happy to care) but a bridesmaid mentioned that she had sweat dripping down her legs! Luckily, guests could use our programs to fan themselves.
We were surrounded by all the people we love and that have watched us grow, laughed with us, provided encouragement, and showered us with endless love. They are our favorite people in the world and were a part of what we will remember as The Best Day Ever!
After exchanging vows at the Good Shepherd Chapel at Concordia University, Katrina and Nick's wedding continued with a reception at Strawberry Farms Golf Club located in Irvine, California. Bright floral arrangements and robins egg blue linens decorated the tables while twinkle lights transformed The Big Red Barn into the perfect whimsical setting for this couple to continue celebrating with their guests.
Rather than a traditional wedding cake, Katrina and Nick opted for tasty treats from Sweet Lucie's. Known for their handmade, super premium, old fashioned ice cream and sorbets, Sweet Lucie's caters events all over the Los Angeles in either their 1959 ice cream truck or the vintage ice cream cart that is pictured below. They can even produce ice cream or sorbets that are a perfect match to the theme or color palette of your special occasion!
Katrina and Nick used Smilebooth for their photo-booth. If you are unfamiliar with this uber cute company that is a fresh, new rendition of the classic, old school photobooth. A dummy-proof way to get professional photos from your event, and no photographer is needed! This self-functioning booth takes the guesswork out of producing professional photos of your event. It's an effortless process for documenting events in an atmosphere that encourages a hot mess of fun and spontaneity
