It doesn’t get any better than a romantic destination wedding/vacation in Maui, and this bride and groom took full advantage of the opportunity to play and celebrate with their friends and family. The bride's vision of a burgundy, white and gold wedding came together flawlessly at the The Westin Ka'anapali.
We absolutely love her stunning Mona Gown by Hayley Paige. After all, who doesn’t love a Hayley Paige gown?! See more of this Maui wedding below, and feel free to pin your favorite style ideas from the full gallery captured by Jessica Di Bella.
From Jessica Di Bella Photography: Originally wanting to have a Napa winery wedding with up to 200 guests, shortly after starting the planning process, Shannon and Taylor knew that wasn't for them. Having always wanted to go to Hawaii herself and itching to go back since childhood for Taylor, having their wedding on a tropical island with 50 of their closest friends and family members was the perfect excuse to take a nice vacation. Shannon admits, destination weddings can be risky for many reasons, especially for an organized planner like herself, but knowing the most important people in their lives would be there to share it with them made it so exciting and worth it!
The perfect amount of sunrise, warm and breeze on a lush green lawn next to a gorgeous crystal blue beach in Ka'anapali was the setting for Shannon and Taylor's special day. Building up to their wedding day, the couple invited friends and family to join them to enjoy all Maui has to offer- amazing food, hiking, waterfalls, scenic views, pool or beach hang out time, paddle boarding, snorkeling, delicious drinks and breathtaking sunsets. Shannon chose to design her wedding from her own personal style with just a sprinkle of island influence- allowing the scenery to speak for itself. Deep burgundy, golds, classic black & white, and of course beautiful island greenery help set the tone for her vision.
Shannon played on her new last name- Key- as a symbol seen throughout their celebration and decor. Perhaps the most memorable moment from their special day was the moment Taylor laid eyes on Shannon walking down the aisle with her dad- overcome with emotion, Taylor shed tears of joy at the sight of his bride-to-be, and left guests (and vendors) in tears as well from the genuine expression of joy and love.
In Shannon's eyes, their wedding day was the best day ever! Waking up on a beautiful island knowing that she was just hours away from marrying the man of her dreams while getting to spend the whole morning in silky robes with her best friends and mom watching Bridesmaids the movie on repeat, sipping champagne and laughing. Being surrounded by the most incredible and supportive group of people while they exchanged "I Do's" is truly what made their day special and they wouldn't change a thing.
