Romantic or playful? It depends on your dress!
The inspo for this shoot started with finding the dress. Taking some inspiration from the queen herself - India Blue - this shoot designer found the feathered dress that dreams are made of, courtesy of Clair De Lune San Francisco.
With the dress in hand, next up was finding the decor. When it comes to a Valentine's Day wedding, you really only have a few choices for a color palette: red, pink, lighter pink, and white, in whatever combination you prefer. This design, however, focused more on the type of decor rather than the color palette of that decor.
Valentine's Day decorating tips
For the flowers, that same focus on texture came into play, along with varying stem heights to make sure they stood out from everything else. It's fun to lean heavily into the holiday theme, so who could resist adding tinsel hearts, heart balloons, and a glowing 'love' sign to top off the trendy and flirty vibe!
Using free standing decor, like the balloons, made for some super photo props. Plus, they were easy to move around, which means you could use them at a reception or even for a photo booth set up your guests can use to commemorate your big day.
Hearts can be used anywhere, even the cake!
Another element that a lot of couples think about last - but that can really round out your theme - is the cake! There are so many kinds of heart shaped cakes with the simplest of decoration but that still draw the eye right to them. That's what inspired the heart-shaped 'Love Club' cake in this shoot, courtesy of Alice in Flourland. It was simple, small, and the perfect little photo prop for the couple!
