Rustic farm wedding reception table setting with flowers

This bride and groom, April and George, really wanted to host their wedding at an intimate but quirky venue when they started to plan their wedding day. In fact, when George proposed in Finland in November 2019, they started browsing the internet that night for 'tent' or 'marque' weddings, and this one venue image kept coming up time and time again. Keep scrolling to see all of the incredible images by Beth Beresford Photography of this jaw-dropping venue, Jimmy’s Farm Weddings. The day included planning by Natalie Solanke Weddings, flowers by Luna Rose Floral Design, and timeless stationery by Elle Bee Design. The bride wanted a very classic plain dress due to her love of 1950's Hollywood Glamour. Just like with the venue, she wanted something very simple but still unique. She immediately said no to a veil! At The Wedding Shop Colchester, she found her perfect dress by designer, Jesus Peiro.

A Unique Venue

The venue - Jimmy’s Farm - was the only venue they ended up looking at because they knew immediately that it was "the one." Jimmy’s Farm included a private farm tour for April and George's guests that was so wonderful, their friends and family were still bringing it up months after! The "Farm Tour" was so unique and different. Not many people can say that they have fed a camel on their wedding day!

Time to Party: Their Rustic Reception

The couple booked the most amazing DJ's who played some of their favorite songs from college. They really focused on making sure the music was exactly what they wanted, and it really made their night. In fact, the bride even said that one of the pieces of advice she would pass along would be to not try to please everyone - play the music that you love!

A Multi-Flavored Cake

The cake created by The Little Sugar Rose had three layers with three different flavors: Lemon & Elderflower, Strawberry & Champagne, and Sticky Toffee Pudding. It was filled with the most beautiful sugar flowers. The bride even kept the sugar flowers and had them displayed in a glass cloche afterwards.

The Couple's Best Advice

Delegate! Don't get consumed in the small details - You will be too busy having fun on the day to notice them. Also, don't feel like you have to stick to traditions! Do what you feel comfortable with. April and George had been together for nearly 10 years, so they pretty much broke all the rules and just did what they wanted. For example, they stayed together the night before the wedding. For them, it just made more sense, as opposed to being in two different rooms feeling anxious and alone.
