Hayley and Robbie met during their time working at different summer camps in the camping industry. They both found themselves traveling together for work and ended up falling in love during a trip to Australia and New Zealand. They fondly refer to this trip as their “first honeymoon.”
For their engagement, they were beginning a week-long stretch for a summer camp crew. To her surprise, one day Hayley and Robbie received a very special trunk delivery. Robbie, who planned the surprise, played along with the delivery, opening the trunk and revealing the items to Hayley. Eventually, the champagne was set out, as was a pillow with the special message from Robbie written on it. It was a proposal trunk filled with items for a picnic! That entire weekend unraveled with surprises for Hayley, and as she will ecstatically recall, it was one of the best moments and weekends of her life!

With the goal of providing the full camping experience to their guests, Hayley and Robbie’s scenic lakeside wedding at Camp Starlight offered a resourceful amount of DIY attitude that felt larger than life. This was Hayley’s dream location in Pennsylvania, making it possible for them to throw an extended weekend retreat for their guests. The weekend was bursting with memories as they shared family-style dinners, had a Friday night hoe-down and cookout, and spent afternoons canoeing and playing beach volleyball. The wedding ceremony was held on the lakeside overlooking the sunset with a wooden Chuppah covered in wildflowers. Hayley’s wedding dress glimmered with beading and tiny florals, encompassing the spirit of their weekend.
Their Bunk Crawl Cocktail Hour was epic as the eight stations in the bunk circle depicted beloved, meaningful locations for the couple, each with a special drink, snack, decor, and signage that recreated these real-life destinations. The reception that followed utilized the space beautifully, setting long tables under birch tree canopies with hanging florals and lights.

Sunday was an “Off the Market” farmer's market-inspired breakfast to say goodbye. Several tents were set up with handmade cotton shoulder bags for guests to collect local homemade goodies, and flowers from the reception were repurposed for guests to make their own bouquets to take home. Their event from beginning to end truly embraced all the elements of the outdoors in a playful way that felt equally refined.
