Katie and Josh met at a tattoo shop in Van Wert, Ohio several years ago, and they've been inseparable ever since! This couple ended up planning their own wedding at The Saltbox Inn in Cookeville, Tennessee, with an outdoor ceremony and a reception in the grounds’ own stables. This venue included several amenities (including a lavish greenhouse!) that created a magical backdrop for portraits of the couple. With a number of rentals available on site and overnight lodging available in the quaint inn, this venue checked all the boxes for Katie and Josh’s perfect wedding day.

It was important for Katie to wear a dress that she felt suited her individuality and super bubbly personality. She wanted a dress that was truly unique and with plenty of glitz and glam to reflect her star-quality personality. Her trumpet-style Eslieb wedding dress (courtesy of Couture by Tess Bridal) included a sheer cathedral train and a beautiful floral and sparkly-patterned shell with a pale champagne layer underneath. Katie shared, “My gown was a dream. I tried on about 30 dresses but when I put this one on it was meant to be. It fit like a glove and had the best look for my wedding. The train was long and wide so when it was bustled up it was still trailing behind!"

Being the creative couple that they are, Katie and Josh got crafty with some of their decor. Since they used ivory linen tablecloths with black candlesticks, they needed to find an economical way to protect the tablecloths from befallen wax. “Unfortunately, we did not have dripless candles, so we needed to find a quick fix to protect the tablecloths. We placed wax paper under cheesecloth that we dyed ourselves. Pre-colored cheesecloth was triple the cost that I paid to dye them myself! It was a quick, inexpensive project," explained Katie.
After the sweetest ceremony that included their three children, everyone danced the night away to beats by Jason Ward Events. Royal House of Cheese created a stunning designer charcuterie spread and catered the whole affair. The couple purchased all of their libations from local vendors. Their beer came from a local brewing company called Red Silo Brewing, and they purchased the wine from nearby DelMonaco Winery & Vineyards. Every thoughtful detail planned by Katie and Josh created an evening to remember for all!
