Why New Orleans is the Perfect Wedding Destination
Mary and Andrew’s wedding at The Columns Hotel on St. Charles Avenue was a lively, immersive celebration of New Orleans’ storied culture and enduring glamour. Their wedding weekend was filled with interactive entertainment, opulent design, and thoughtful details that reflected the couple’s unique vision. The design paid homage to the decadence of the 1920s with a modern edge. Rich hues of deep red, bold orange, moody purple, and playful pink adorned every space. Lush floral arrangements cascaded down the hotel’s entry stairs and topped tables throughout the reception. Sequin tablecloths shimmered in the candlelight, while dim, moody lighting created an atmosphere of intimacy and drama. The Columns Hotel’s stately architecture and eclectic design added to the sense of grandeur and history, perfectly suited to the wedding aesthetic.
Mary’s beaded floral gown was a showstopper, embodying the bold, colorful spirit of the weekend. Andrew’s light suit provided a modern, fresh complement. Together, they embodied the effortless elegance that defined the entire celebration.
The reception was a whirlwind of activity. Stilt-walking revelers and costumed entertainers moved through the venue and onto the Avenue for a lively second line, setting the tone for the night.
Sequin-clad ladies situated in an over-sized champagne coupe poured bubbly for guests, while aerial performers twirled gracefully overhead. Later in the evening guests could visit a tarot card reader for a glimpse into their futures, and the evening’s soundtrack shifted from a live band to a DJ, keeping the dance floor filled. Each moment offered a new experience, making it a night guests will always remember.
As the night came to a close, the energy didn’t fade. Guests were treated to late-night cafe au lait and beignets from a food truck, a nod to New Orleans’ culinary traditions. It was a fitting end to a weekend filled with revelry, flavor, and unforgettable moments, complete with show-stopping live entertainment and the electric party atmosphere for which New Orleans is known.
