After many months of trying to figure out a wedding color palette and theme, Hannah (an interior designer), fell in love with iconic blue and white Mexican tiles and decided to pull the color palette and inspiration from them for her wedding near Playa del Carmen. The gorgeous design theme carried through to bespoke details, such as the groom's custom blue tuxedo, mismatched bridesmaid dresses, and fabulously patterned invitations.

This Organic Boho Destination Wedding In Mexico Is A Total Dream
Bride, Hannah, was a vision of modern beauty in a billowing, layered Hayley Paige wedding gown that gave her a light and flouncy aura. Her and groom, Grant, both chose attire that both popped against their tropical wedding venue while complementing the natural backdrop.
We love the bride's clamshell shaped purse to match the beachy vibes of the day!
Grant wore a truly unique and stylish custom Birdseye tuxedo in blue and black, with a colorful skull print lining.
To match the tile inspiration - the bridesmaids wore trendy dresses in all different styles, shapes, and lengths with bold blue and white patterns. The groomsmen complemented the girls' looks in mismatched blue and black suits.
Just south of Playa del Carmen, Hotel Xcaret Mexico lies amidst sprawling jungle and river scenery. The breathtaking ceremony site sits at the edge of a crystal clear and vibrantly blue cove. The bride on their special ceremony location:
“Our favorite memory of the day was the ceremony. The location was intimate and grand at the same time. We had selected very specific songs to walk up to, and walk back from. We had our best friend and next door neighbor marrying us. Hannah's mother read a very sentimental poem that didn't leave a dry eye in the group. And the personalized vows were light and fun but raw and vulnerable all at the same time. It really set the tone for the rest of the evening.”
Acoustic guitar played as the bridal party walked the aisle! Groomsmen and Grant and his mom walked in to "Deal" by Grateful Dead. Bridesmaids walked up to "Fat Bottom Girls" by Queen and Hannah and her mom walked up to "Yellow" by Coldplay.

Sticking to all white with accents of bold blue, Lucy Gallagher Boutique Weddings created the modern chic simplistic vibe that the couple was looking for. The clean and elegant design popped against the luscious greenery of Playa del Carmen.
Mexican tiles made their way into the reception literally, accented by delicate seashell name place settings.
"Hannah and Grant wanted the day to feel like an extension of their vacation! With the ceremony being extremely personalized with their best friend as our officiant, Hannah's mother reading a sentimental poem, and Grant and Hannah writing their own vows, they felt like they could eliminate some of the other traditions during the reception. By eliminating the cake cutting, multiple speeches, and any type of photo booths or gimmicks, they were able to spend the entire evening hanging out and dancing and drinking with their guests." - Lucy Gallagher
Hannah ended the magical wedding day with a fab outfit change! Her reception look was a ruffled mini dress with polka dot embroidery. The perfect style to dance the night away on the light up dance floor to tunes by Evolution Mix.
"Start planning early so that you have time to take breaks and enjoy being engaged! It can be overwhelming but so worth every minute to hire a wedding planner. They are great guides throughout the entire process so you don't feel like you are doing everything on your own and there is someone with expertise guiding you through. Pick a few things that are most important to you and do them all the way! People will remember those the most even if some things that are not as important to you are not exactly what you wanted. Having everything laid out on a wedding website is super helpful for your guests and then they are not bugging you with questions the week or day of your wedding (the more information the better!) So if you are thinking of a destination wedding, that aspect is something we didn't anticipate but so glad it went that way!"
